Arts Lab 2024 Impact Report
Having completed its third year, Arts Lab has become an established programme with solid roots.
Launched in 2022 by Creative Kernow, Arts Well and HeadStart Kernow, the programme connects groups of young people with artists in their settings to coproduce creative activities that support their health and happiness.
Between September 2023 and August 2024, Arts Lab worked with 56 artists, supported by 166 staff from young people’s settings, and delivered 242 workshops with 1,100 young people – from Bude to St Just.
The programme achieve huge successes, with 100% of the staff agrees it had positive impact on the young people.
As one young participant put in their own words:
At first I felt concerned and anxious. Over the past 10 weeks I have built skills and grown in confidence… every child in Cornwall should get to do this. Singing, dancing, activity, performing! This is one of the best experience I have ever witnessed.
